Job Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager serves the college in all aspects of recruitment, employment, classification and compensation, and related areas in the Human Resources Division. Develops and carries out recruitment and retention plan for the College. Provides onboarding and orientation to new employees. Leads the employee performance management program. Serves as the Workers Compensation Coordinator. Ensure faculty credentials are properly verified and documented based on SACSCOC accreditation standards. Responsible for college Policy and Procedure Manual.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and experience in human resources management programs.

Knowledge of recruitment, performance management, counseling techniques and employment practices. Supervisory skills. Knowledge of insurance principles and practices, knowledge of rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to human resources, records management, policy and procedure management, public retirement, workers compensation, and related benefits. Knowledge of SACSCOC faculty credentialing guidelines and other accreditation standards a plus. Experience creating and organizing events for recruitment, professional development, etc.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to supervise staff, manage resources and exercise professional judgement and decision making. Employee may cover the college when a member of the administrative cabinet and President are not on campus. Represents Director of Human Resources at state and college meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

NETC preferred: A bachelor's degree and four (4) years professional experience in human resources, insurance and retirement programs. Experience in higher education, payroll, and a background including successful implementation of software serving a human resources operation preferred. PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.Additional Comments

Drivers License required. Overnight travel may be required. Able to lift 50 lbs. Travel to other campuses required.
