Job Description Summary:

The RN provides direct ambulatory health services, vaccination clinics, and services related to infectious disease procedures to Husson University Students, as well as, participate in, trainings and educational services for students and parents/caregivers. The RN is involved with health, wellness, and preventative initiatives on campus while acting in conjunction with colleagues of the integrated health team at the Wellness Center. This is a full-time, 10-month position (40 hours per week) position that is administratively responsible through the Director of Wellness.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides in-person and tele-health triages, assessments, treatments and/or refers patients per FNP orders and protocols
  • Performs venipuncture, administers injections, and performs rapid labs tests, processes labs and medication refills.
  • Acts as support for FNP staff
  • Maintains medical records, reports lab test results, follows-up with acute patients
  • Provides health education and discharge instructions
  • Participates with Director in the development and review of procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Assists in other areas of Wellness center support, including administrative support, as required
  • Maintains unrestricted RN licensing within the State of Maine.
  • Conform to acceptable attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience:


  • Current, unrestricted State of Maine RN Licensure
  • Current BLS for the medical provider certification
  • 3 – 5 years in the medical field, preferably in an ambulatory care setting with up-to-date knowledge of medical trends and procedures
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
  • Familiarity with ambulatory care and adolescent and adult health, preferred

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
