Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining campus buildings utilizing the carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC trades as well as housekeeping and floor maintenance.Purpose of the Position:
This position will provide repair and maintenance to the HVAC equipment and associated motors and controls. This includes chillers, pumps, VFDs, boilers, specialized controls, etc. It will operate energy management systems (Tridium, Trane Summit, Invensys). It will also assist with the set up of preventative maintenance programs. This position will assist in purchasing materials and supplies using small purchase credit card and eVA. It will maintain records for purchases and track inventory.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) and/or Competencies required and preferred:
Working knowledge of methods, practices, materials and equipment used in air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems to maintain HVAC systems and related equipment in operating condition
Demonstrated ability to make adjustments to thermostats, gauges, valves, motors and other devices to maintain equipment in proper working order and to document the equipment service records
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis
Ability to work Monday – Friday, 2 pm – 11 pmEducation, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Journeyman HVAC license or ability to acquire within 24 months of start date. Universal EPA Certification
Experience Required: Considerable experience in HVAC trade at the journeyman level.Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Preferred :
Education Preferred: Associate’s degree in related field. Master HVAC license.
Experience Preferred: Experience with energy management/building automation systems.Salary Information:
