Description of Position

HIRING RANGE: $12.15 - $14.00 (Non-sworn, uniformed)

Under minimal supervision, enforces policies established by the Yavapai College Board of Governors dealing with vehicular parking, traffic control and overall maintenance of public order. Perform a variety of safety functions to ensure the campus is a safe and secure learning environment for students, staff and visitors. Regular foot patrol of buildings, parking lots and surrounding property is required.

The incumbent will report, by phone, any suspicious or criminal activity to Campus Police. Complete lock up of all buildings at assigned campus. Report any hazards or safety concerns observed. Complete daily activity log. Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a temporary part-time position working 0 - 19 hours per week as scheduled. May be hired to work at the Prescott, Verde Valley, Sedona, Prescott Valley, CTEC, or Chino Valley campus.Minimum Expectations & Requirements

- Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license without record of suspension or revocation in any State- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories
- Must be responsible- Must be able to learn and further develop professionally- Ability to work independently and adapt in a changing workplace - Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are required - Physical ability as described in Essential Functions- Must display a willingness to appreciate the differences in individuals- Must successfully pass a polygraph test- Regular attendance as scheduled is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job dutiesPreferred Skills & Abilities

- Experience in security or criminal justice field
- Three or more years' experience dealing with the public- Exercise judgment and make decisions as to the appropriate action under pressure in accordance with established rules, regulations, and policies- Work cooperatively, courteously and professionally with all segments of the public- Experience in crime prevention- Familiar with the structure of a post secondary educational institution- Red Cross certified in CPR and AED
- Work experience in a community college/higher education environmentEssential Functions
