The Office of the Registrar is responsible for student recruitment and admissions, direct and online service to current students, including registration, financial aid, scholarships, academic assessments, graduation and petitions. It also provides course scheduling, administration of tests and exams, enrolment data analysis and business intelligence.

Your opportunity:

Working under the Associate Registrar and Director of Student Services you will be responsible to develop and implement communication strategies and plans to promote the Office of the Registrar Student Services, generate story ideas and concepts, design and create marketing and communication materials, including digital and print campaigns, brochures, posters, and banners, complete website updates and ensure technical issues are resolved, implement social media campaigns. You will also provide student services and supports by advising students on personal and academic issues via the Office of the Registrar’s live chat channels, resolve issues within the scope of your role and escalating problemsas required, assign and check the work of work-study students, direct the activities of casual staff and provide orientation on work procedures and practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing digital communication plans across a broad range of marketing/communication channels
  • Liaising with colleagues across the University to ensure consistent and/or integrated messaging
  • Producing promotional and outreach materials
  • Implementing social media campaigns
  • Developing and editing standard operating procedures for online content production and use
  • Advising students on personal and academic issues by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
  • Resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required
  • Assigning and checking the work of work-study students

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Graphic or Interactive Design, Communications, Journalism, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum four years related work experience
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing digital and social media communication plans
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, producing and disseminating marketing/communication materials
  • Demonstrated experience producing promotional and outreach materials
  • Demonstrated experience assigning and directing the activities of work-study students and casual staff
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, HTML, Word Press, spreadsheets, databases and web (blogs, social media, email newsletters, etc.) and desktop publishing/graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Work experience on Campaign Monitor or other similar listserv email platforms
  • Knowledge of academic programs, policies and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team centered environment

  • Hours of Work: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:45 AM - 5 PM; Wednesday: 8:45 AM - 7 PM and; Friday: 8:45 AM - 3:30 PM
