SIUE is pleased to announce Open Recruitment/Testing for current Culinary Worker II positions in our Food Service department. Under guidance from a designated supervisor, the Culinary Worker II prepares or assists in the preparation of food items, including such tasks as cleaning, dicing, and peeling vegetables, and weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients as well as performing simple cooking, grilling, and food preparation, and assisting in serving of food as required.

The selected candidate will clean and maintain work areas and equipment and package food for storage in designated areas in proper containers while following Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines. Additionally, the Culinary Worker II may also oversee and train student assistants as well as participate in planning menus and overseeing simple operations. Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned in support of the department’s mission and goals.

Working hours and shifts may vary including days, evenings, and weekends. Final shifts will be assigned at hire. Food Services positions are based at our Edwardsville campus only and may include layoff over academic breaks, including summer breaks.
