SIUE Head Start/Early Head Start is excited to announce a new hire incentive of up to $3,000 through December 2022. **

SIUE’s Head Start/Early Head Start is seeking qualified candidates for a Home Visitor position. The SIUE Head Start/Early Head Start program serves more than 860 families and children birth through age five, including children with special needs, throughout St. Clair County and consists of a team of individuals dedicated to making real change that leads to the success of children, families and communities. The program is housed in 12 early childhood centers, eight managed directly by SIUE staff and five collaborations. SIUE’s Head Start program includes a rigorous school readiness program and provides comprehensive services, such as health/dental screenings and family engagement and support activities.

The Home Visitor staff provide children and families in the home-based option a comprehensive program to meet their social, intellectual, emotional and physical needs. Home Visitors serve as facilitators, educators, and support systems for parents and families. Responsibilities include preparing developmentally appropriate lesson plans (including instruction during family style dining), implementing the adopted curriculum, managing child behavior, modeling instructions for parents, individualizing child instruction, conducting screening and assessments, scheduling and completing weekly home visits. The Home Visitor will all be responsible for obtaining and managing child outcome data and ensuring accurate records and files are kept for each participant. Other duties maybe assigned based on the needs and goals of the department.

**New Hire Incentives paid out based on percentage of hire and in set timed increments. Current or transfer employees (within Head Start/Early Head Start program) not eligible. Full details will be discussed at hire.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or any related degree (i.e. Child Development, Childhood Education, Childcare Management, etc.) that required enough early childhood coursework that is equivalent to a major in Early Childhood Education. (Tier 1)

OR

- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field (see above), and at least two years of experience teaching infants/toddlers and/or preschool aged children AND, currently enrolled in a qualifying, degree-seeking program leading to a Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field, having already completed at least half (50%) of the coursework. (Tier 2)
