Appointment: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Computer Science to begin Fall 2022.

Responsibilities:

The University of Puget Sound seeks applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Computer Science to begin Fall 2022.

The successful candidate will teach courses in the existing Computer Science curriculum and develop and teach courses in the new undergraduate Data Science major. Standard teaching load is 6 units per academic year. Candidates are expected to engage in undergraduate research, mentoring, advising, and department and university service assignments.

Puget Sound is launching a new undergraduate major in Data Science, and we are seeking candidates who are excited to help support, shape, and teach in the new major. Preference will be given to candidates specializing in one or more of the active areas of research in data science, including data mining and knowledge discovery, big data analytics, data visualization, deep learning, or statistical models for data mining.

Qualifications:

PhD preferred; ABD considered and a commitment to undergraduate teaching is required. A degree in Computer Science or Data Science is preferred, but degrees in closely related fields (Informatics, Statistics, or Math) will also be considered.
