About This Position

The department of Medical Compliance at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator.

This position is part of the compliance team and promotes healthcare compliance within UHealth. The incumbent is responsible for conducting research, performing audits, monitoring and investigations, documentation reviews of the UHealth policies, rules and regulations. Additionally, he/she will contribute to the success of the compliance program by strategizing compliance risk assessment, summarizing and documenting compliance related UHealth policies and procedures, while maintain accurate records of division actions and will document communication with members of the medical community, regulatory entities and any others involved in the medical enterprise.

The Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator provides logistical and administrative support to the AVP Occupational Health Safety and Compliance.

  • Supports AVP Occupational Health, Safety & Compliance with daily administrative tasks.

  • Organizes the AVP Occupational Health, Safety & Compliance office to ensure deliverable of services and superior customer service experience.

  • Collects, reviews, analyzes complex and/or confidential data and prepares reports, charts, budgets, and other presentation materials.

  • Coordinates preparation of OHSC operating reports such as budget expenditures, statistical reports, or performance measures.

  • Responds to or routes non-routine, priority, or confidential inquiries from external or internal sources with correspondence or other messaging on behalf of the AVP OHSC Office.

  • Plans & coordinates meetings on behalf of the AVP OHSC Office.

  • Attends meetings and prepares and distributes minutes on behalf of the AVP OHSC Office.

  • Responsible for compilation of data and on time delivery of scheduled reports of the AVP Office.

  • Prepares PowerPoint Presentations on behalf of the AVP OHSC Office.

  • Prepares Word documents, updates policies, and procedures for the AVP OHSC Office.

  • Collaborates with OHSC team members in developing reports that will support the review process.

  • Represents AVP Office in meetings as required.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Minimum three years of relevant experience

  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

  • Advance level proficiency in computer software Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to set priorities and objectives, then plan, organize, and manage the work to meet time/schedule constraints.

  • Skilled in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

Certification and Licensing:

  • Smartsheet Certified (must be obtained within 60 days of employment)

  • Advanced User Word (must be obtained within 60 days of employment)

  • Advanced User PowerPoint (must be obtained within 60 days of employment)

  • Advanced User Excel (must be obtained within 90 days of employment
