Secretary II- Health Services (Provisional)

SUNY Sullivan is seeking to fill the position of Secretary II in the department of Health Services. The incumbent will report to the College Nurse. The work involves responsibility for performing highly complex duties and administrative support tasks to further the overall work of the Health Services Office. Work is performed under general supervision with leeway for use of independent judgment in carrying out details of the work. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
(A) Graduation from a college or university with an Associate’s Degree in secretarial science or closely related field and one (1) year
of clerical experience which shall have involved the operation of a computer for word-processing, database or spreadsheet
(B) Certificate in Office Assistant, or a related field, from a college or university and two (2) years of clerical experience as defined in
(C) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of clerical experience as
defined in (A); or
(D) Four (4) years of clerical experience as defined in (A) above; or
(E) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), (C) and (D) above.
This position is a Civil Service, Competitive Class position. Appointment will be provisional until the candidate is
permanently appointed from an eligible list pursuant to Civil Service Law and Rules. Starting hiring rate is $20.71 per hour
($37,828.10 annual). The review of resumes is scheduled to begin on October 4, 2021. The next test date is not yet scheduled and is to be determined by Sullivan County.
