Job Description Summary
The Human Resources Assistant will provide general administrative support for Penn Arts and Sciences HR Department in a variety of ways, including HR communications and data management.

This position will work approximately 18 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with the possibility of additional hours depending on organizational needs.

The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) forms the foundation of the scholarly excellence that has established Penn as one of the world's leading research universities. We teach students across all 12 Penn schools, and our academic departments span the reach from anthropology and biology to sociology and South Asian studies. The three educational divisions of SAS fulfill different missions, united by the School's broader commitment to providing its students with an unrivaled education in the arts and sciences. SAS Human Resources is one of the administrative offices within the School with broad responsibility for human resource related issues pertaining to more than 700 staff members. We are seeking a temporary HR Assistant to join our team.

The HR Assistant provides administrative support to all members of the Penn Arts and Sciences HR team. This position will provide department administrative and organizational support for day to day work in the department and special HR projects. This includes scheduling, maintaining paper and electronic filing systems, standard HR communications, and data entry and management.

Qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience providing administrative support in academic environment preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Sense of urgency
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Data collection and analysis
