Job Summary

Provide support to the Institute's research mission through monitoring of research plans and activity with regard to compliance with applicable laws and regulation. Provide education and advice to research management and faculty regarding compliance requirements. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Institute research faculty and management; representatives of government agencies, other universities, contractors, grant agencies, professional services and associations, corporate/foundations, research sponsors.

This position typically will advise and counsel: Institute research faculty and management. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Provide guidance to research personnel on application preparation and review of study protocols with regard to regulatory requirements.

Job Duty 2 -
Prepare, review and maintain records and other documentation related to research compliance, proper authorizations, etc.

Job Duty 3 -
Coordinate campus-wide training on compliance; maintain training records.

Job Duty 4 -
Maintain current awareness of regulatory compliance policies and process.

Job Duty 5 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Three to four years of job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires knowledge and skills in application of federal and institutional regulations regarding human subject research, animal subject research, recombinant DNA, export control and foreign nationals and institutional and financial conflicts of interest.
