Required Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory or clinical trial research.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to maintain confidentiality
Willingness and ability to work with research animals
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases or willingness to learn
Ability to work independently with only general supervision; complete work and meet deadlinesPreferred Qualifications Knowledge of cell culture, mouse tissue collection and molecular and cellular techniques.Responsibilities The Research Associate performs advanced administrative and technical work in support of on-going research projects: Perform day to day lab research lab operations including Mouse handling, genotyping and colony maintenance; qRT-PCR and western blotting; Tissue sectioning.The duties include, but are not limited to:
- Cell culture and mouse tissue collection
- Molecular biology assays of cultured cells and tissue; Western blot, qRT-PCR
- Tissue sectioning and histology
- Data analysis and recordkeeping
- Other related duties as assigned
Shift/Salary Shift: Days/M-F; Work outside of the normal business hours may be required. Pay Grade: R14 Salary: $36,197/Annually
