Position Information

This is a part-time, temporary position.

** Successful candidates in these temporary appointments may be appointed from a few days up to one year depending on the assignment. Temporary appointments must end on or before the end of the fiscal year (June 30th of the following year), with the possibility of renewal.

Conditions of Employment

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

The person holding this position is considered a `mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

The salary range for this classification is: minimum $2,912 - maximum $4,331 monthly.

Major Duties

Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean in collaboration with the KIN Department Chair and the Intramural Program Director, the incumbent's primary duties involve assistance in storing and issuing athletic equipment in the intramural program, setting up and dismantling equipment before and after each game/session, and assist with the distribution of recruitment materials for the intramurals program.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Possession of or ability to obtain an American Red Cross First Aid Certificate

Experience working with an intramurals program

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working knowledge of or ability to learn quickly the name and type of athletic equipment and clothes used in physical education classes; ability to compare names and numbers rapidly and accurately; ability to post and keep simple records; ability to sort, maintain and inventory supplies; ability to mend and do simple sewing by hand and machine; ability to work well with others; ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

55% - Provide assistance with storing and issuing athletic equipment for the intramural program and assist with set0up and dismantling of equipment before and after each game/session.

20% - Assist with the distribution of marketing and registration materials for the intramurals program.

20% - Assist with the organization of activities and assist with the monitoring work of work-study students.

5% - Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or administrators
