Position Description

The Department of Public Administration, College of Business Administration and Public Policy at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites applications for a Tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Academic Year) with the appointment starting in Fall 2022.

The Department offers Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration; Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a minor in public administration. The Position

The Department of Public Administration invites applications for an Assistant Professor position. We seek a faculty member with expertise in health care policy and administration. The position will be a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor, with an expected start date in fall of 2022.

Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities will include both undergraduate and graduate courses, day, evening or weekend classes, ground based and online classes. Additional responsibilities include research and service consistent with the mission of the University and the College of Business Administration and Public Policy.Published research in support of the mission is expected and required for tenure and promotion.The appointment will be effective fall semester, 2022. Appointment and start date are subject to the availability of funds.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants must have experience in teaching and working with colleagues and students from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
  • Ph.D. in Public Administration or Public Policy by start of appointment.
  • Experience in teaching public administration or public policy courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.
  • A record of scholarly research activities in the core fields of public administration or public policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in the field of healthcare policy and administration or policy analysis.
  • Experience in working with practitioners.
  • Experience in online teaching.
  • A record of effective teaching in the core fields of public administration or public policy.

Employment Requirement – Background Check

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

The US Equivalency certification is used to validate foreign studies from an academic credential evaluation agency and is evaluated on foreign studies and deemed to be equivalent to degrees from the United States. The certification must translate the information in English, and confirm that your highest terminal degree is US Equivalent to a US terminal degree (i.e., Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate’s, Doctor’s of Philosophy).
