Doctorate Range: $68.87 to 95.89

Personnel new to the District are limited to a maximum 10th step placement based on previous experience: $90.73.

Not Eligible for Benefits:
With the exception of Workers’ Compensation coverage, not eligible to participate in the District’s benefit programs.

Under the general supervision of the discipline Division Dean, will teach Non-Credit (Short-Term) vocational courses in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, and class schedules; evaluate progress of students; advise students concerning educational matters, and perform other instructional related duties as assigned.

A bachelor’s degree; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught. An associate degree; and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught.; Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter.

Teach Non-Credit (Short-Term) vocational courses; preparation of materials; grading student work; maintaining an effective classroom environment and workspace. Most teaching assignments are in the evening (Monday – Thursday) with some daytime class opportunities.

BACKGROUND CHECK: A background investigation of new employees is required, including reference checks and a state criminal history report. Employment will not begin until the history check has been cleared by Human Resources. The cost for the criminal history report will be the responsibility of the successful candidate.

TRANSCRIPTS: At the time an offer of assignment is made, proper salary placement is contingent upon receipt of OFFICIAL (sealed) transcripts. Instructors with advanced degrees and coursework shall be placed on the appropriate salary column and step up to step 10. Initial salary placement will be at the first column/step until official transcripts have been submitted to Human Resources and placement processed. Note: there is a separate salary range for summer school.
