Restorative Clinical Sciences in the UMKC School of Dentistry

Job Description

The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry is seeking a general dentist faculty member to fill a position in the Restorative Clinical Sciences Department. The position is a 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. The UMKC School of Dentistry is known for high-quality pre-doctoral education and seeks candidates who are committed to supporting students from historically marginalized backgrounds and addressing issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The faculty member will provide clinical instruction and oversight for pre-doctoral dental students. This includes instruction and evaluation of students in diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative dentistry, removable, fixed, and implant prosthodontics, and non-surgical periodontics. The faculty member is expected to provide didactic and preclinical lab instruction, as assigned. Qualified candidates may be eligible to participate in faculty practice one day per week.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A DDS/DMD degree or equivalent is required.
  • For individuals with foreign dental degrees, a foreign equivalent of a minimum 4-years dental training degree and satisfactory completion of a minimum 12-month CODA accredited General Dentistry or Prosthodontics postgraduate program in the US is required.
  • All candidates are required to be eligible and obtain a Missouri Dental License prior to starting their employment

  • Documentation of a completed COVID-19/coronavirus vaccination series is required unless exempted for medical or religious reason.

Full Time/Part Time
  • The 12-month academic position is a 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor.
