Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related IT field of study and 5 years' experience in a relevant field of work, to include 3 years' experience in using a system in a relevant function area;

OR

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related IT field of study and 8 years' experience in a relevant field of work, to include 3 years' experience in using a system in a relevant function area;

OR

High School diploma or GED equivalent from a state of federal accredited organization and 11 years' experience in a relevant field of work, to include 3 years' experience in using a system in a relevant function area.

  • In addition to the minimum qualifications, Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Instructional/Educational Technology, Information Technology or related field experience in a higher education environment, and teaching and/or training experience.
  • Broad technical knowledge of information and instructional technologies.
  • Ability to interpret & respond to user problems.
  • Skilled in dealing with a variety of personalities, while working to accomplish detailed/technical tasks.
  • Experience providing technology support in higher education.
Responsibilities All duties include but are not limited to:
  • Provides at-the-elbow functional and technical support of all instructional systems utilized at AU's primary campus and at expansion sites, throughout Georgia. Is the primary expert of the audio-visual, video conferencing, lecture capture, and related instructional technologies used by faculty and students at expansion sites, Coordinates technology needs and support at expansion sites with local IT providers, vendors, and the appropriate teams within IT.
  • Coordinates and staffs the support required for administration of online high stakes computer examinations such as the Natjonal Board of Medical Examiners. Serves as the official Technical Support Coordinator and is responsible for assuring that all computers used for the test administration can deliver the exam securely and successfully. This includes: setting up the Chief Proctor's computer, running exam compatibility checks, resolving identified issues on student-owned computers, administering checkout laptop loaners, and assuring network architecture is fully tested and adequate for test administration. This position is the primary technical expert on the NBME and high stakes exam for AU
  • Assists with faculty and student technology support needs by providing problem determination and resolution on both functional & technical issues by consulting with programmers, database administrators, system administrators as required; participating in user group meetings; identifying training & workshop topics and acting as a key Technology Services liaison with AU.
  • Coordinate and manage implementation of software releases/revisions, functional training, and assist in testing and evaluating new releases. Coordination of test pans and computer image development.
  • Provides consultations and customized documentation and training (scheduled and just-in-time) for individual AU faculty for the development of Instructional Technology strategies, selection of tools and best practices to meet instructional needs.
  • Provide orientation and training for faculty and students by designing, developing, and delivering 5% E workshops, faculty development, student training, and customized documentation.
  • Identify technology opportunities, trends and strategies for collaboration to advance educational delivery for AU. Applies instructional standards, methodologies and principals to collegiate specific needs, objectives and outcomes.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Manager, MCG Technology Services, serves as principle advisor and point of contact to Augusta University faculty for support of enterprise Instructional technology systems including, but not limited to: learning management systems, lecture capture systems, electronic testing systems (including ExamSoft and NBME), communications and collaboration tools (including video conferencing and WebEx), learning asset management, digital media, and web/mobile enabled instructional technologies.
