In order to build an active pool of qualified applicants, Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for adjunct faculty (temporary, part-time) to teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county campuses in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day/evenings, on-line and dual credit instructors to teach in high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as needed basis. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching varying schedules to a diverse student body in accordance with the established syllabi at a variety of locations utilizing technology and using a variety of teaching methods in instruction.Develop and teach the CDL trucking school materials. Ensure compliance of CDL trucking school and remain current with all federal and state laws and industry regulations. Develop and manage course schedules, scheduling instructors where needed, and responding to industry training demands. Recruit, hire and supervise CDL and HEO instructors. Work with partner colleges to ensure safe and robust CDL training programs. Represent PTC at job fairs and other events, as needed. Contribute to strategic marketing development for program expansions.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid Class A South Carolina Commercial Driver's License with all required endorsements and meet all requirements stated in the S.C. Code of Regulations Chapter 38, Department of Public Safety, 38-215. In addition, applicants must meet all of the State and Federal Regulations in 90-115 of the SCDMV Chapter 90 Article 2 DMV Sub Article, listed under Statutory Authority Truck Driver Training Schools, as well as PTC employment requirements. Applicants must be able to provide verifiable proof of a minimum 100,000 miles of over-the-road driving experience, or a CDL Certificate of Completion from an approved course. A 10-year driving record, SLED background check, DOT Medical Certificate and drug testing are required.
