IT Software Analyst 3

 

The University of Tennessee, Office of Information Technology Applications Group is seeking applicants for the position of IT Software Analyst 3. Market Range: MR13

The IT Software Analyst 3 designs, develops, tests, and documents complex software solutions that will execute independently or as part of a larger information system. Business processes include programming to support the administrative, academic, and research mission of the University. This position will report to the IT Manager, Business Information Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Lead, modify, deploy, implement, design, test, and manage critical, high impact, or urgent projects
  • Independently analyze and solve highly complex technical problems
  • Work with campus project partners to help define needs, often across multiple functional areas
  • Interact with external vendors and contractors for technical solutions
  • Analyze, develop, implement and maintain enhancements to enterprise software applications
  • Use innovative solutions to solve problems and modifies solutions when competing policies are presentPerform maintenance, upgrades, and testing of enterprise applications
  • Develop documentation as necessary to complete specific assignments
  • Communicate with users to determine requirements and to convey progress on changes
  • Maintain medium to large sized systems with a considerable amount of independenceResearch emerging technologies and/or threats and provides training Perform other related duties as required


Qualifications
 Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years applicable experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    Three (3) years of IT application design and development or analyst experienceExperience maintaining and supporting enterprise applicationsVerifiable programming skills in PHP, JavaScript, CSS, API technologiesDemonstrated knowledge of use of SQL, MySQL Server, MSSQL, and Oracle DatabasesDocumented software development and analytical skillsAbility to effectively interact with internal campus partners and external vendorsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; customer-service oriented; and a demonstrated flexibility with a variety of applications and user requests.Demonstrated ability to work in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to work independently with minimal technical supervision
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Higher Education working on university wide, large scale projects
  • Must be well spoken, creative, and motivated
  • Familiarity with Hyland OnBase Document Management System
  • Familiarity with NextGen Dynamic Forms
