Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

Under general supervision provides expertise and leadership for the administration of University intercollegiate athletic programs. Responsible to assist the Head Coach in the effective management and administration of all aspects relating to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate experience for student athletes.

Essential Duties Summary:

  • Oversees team related logistics regarding team travel including transportation, lodging, food and equipment.
  • Oversees game preparation related to film exchange, scouting and other statistical forms of analysis.
  • Facilitates equipment purchases and ordering related to players and staff.
  • Coordinates team meals at home and on the road.
  • Assists in planning practices and game-day schedules.
  • Compiles list of player ticket request.
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of current information on NCAA/SWAC rules and bylaws. Ensures that adherence to NCAA operating compliance rules are addressed and carefully monitored.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:

$41,976.00 - $52,470.00

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.), appropriate experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Must abide by and comply in all respects with the constitution, bylaws, rules, regulations, advisory opinions, and interpretations, as amended (collectively “Rules and Regulations”) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (“NCAA”) and the Rules and Regulations of the SWAC relating to the conduct and administration of University’s Intercollegiate Athletics Department. In the event employee becomes aware, or has reasonable cause to believe, that a violation of NCAA or Conference Rules and Regulation or University policies and procedures may have taken place, he/she shall promptly report such violations or suspected violations to the Athletic Director.

Work Experience:

Successful basketball operations experience, at the High School level is required; collegiate level experience is preferred. Volunteer and/or professional experience working with athletic programs can be substituted. Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. Requires the ability to work within the framework of the NCAA and SWAC philosophy.

Working/Environmental Conditions:

  • Limited standing and/or walking.
  • Handling light weight objects.
  • Using or carrying equipment.
  • Stoop, bend or lift.
  • Work may require routine travel.
  • Subject to open hours.
