Job Id: 731 # of Openings: 1 Manager of Leadership Annual Giving Job OverviewReporting to the Director of Annual and Reunion Giving, the Manager of Leadership Annual Giving provides oversight for the Wheaton Associates and Wheaton Fund Champions programs, overseeing communications with leadership annual fund donors (those giving $1,000-$9,999 annually), working to identify prospects, cultivate leadership gifts to the Wheaton Fund, and providing stewardship of donors in assigned portfolio. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans and implements leadership annual giving strategies, working to grow the Wheaton Associates and Wheaton Fund Champions programs and develop additional membership tiers with corresponding benefits.
  • Ensures that leadership annual fund donors are properly recognized, thanked, informed, and stewarded, supervising student note-writing efforts when necessary.
  • Oversees communication with leadership annual fund donors, including calling leadership annual fund donors throughout the year to cultivate, report impacts of giving, solicit their continued support at the leadership level of giving, and pray for requests as presented; sending acknowledgment letters, conceptualize content of the quarterly President's Memorandum along with Director of Annual & Reunion Giving; and provide responses to telephone, mail, and email inquiries. Ensures accurate Ellucian CRM database entry of activity.
  • Identifies and solicits prospects for first-time and upgraded leadership Wheaton Fund gifts.
  • Works to ensure each Wheaton Fund Champion ($10,000+) is being cultivated, stewarded, and solicited strategically, cooperating with the Development team as necessary.
  • Meets regularly with Regional Directors of Development and provides accurate and strategic prospect information to inform their major gift fundraising efforts for the Wheaton Fund.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of leadership annual giving events, including but not limited to Wheaton Associates events.
  • Collaborates with Manager of Annual Giving Programs to manage the Student Ambassadors program, recruiting, training, and leading a team of students to thank donors, speak at events, and otherwise represent Wheaton College to Wheaton Fund donors and educate Wheaton students about the Wheaton Fund. Contributes to the overall strategy and execution of Giving Day planning, in collaboration with contributors from other departments.
  • Reviews Wheaton Associates' giving statuses regularly to ensure that membership records are current and accurate in the Ellucian CRM database.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Previous work experience in educational fundraising strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail and a professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player able to collaborate with people internal and external to the organization.
  • Computer competencies and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
