Position Title: Part-Time, Hourly (as needed) Pharmacist / Assistant Professor Adjunct
Position location: Sheridan Health Services - Southwest Denver
- Anschutz Campus – Exemptions are allowed for medical or religious reasons.
- Consolidated/Central Services Administration – Will follow Anschutz policy on exemptions.
- Provides quality pharmaceutical services focused on exceptional patient service;
- Builds and maintains high quality business relations with co-workers, clinical affiliations, vendors, clients and other constituents;
- Gives professional and pedagogical services as a preceptor for pharmacy students, providing instruction and evaluation in the provision of clinical pharmacy services.
- Provides pharmaceutical care to patients, including processing and accurately dispensing prescription orders, counseling patients regarding health care and prescription medication needs, maintaining confidential information, maintaining controlled medication and required documentation.
- Models, enforces, and provides direction and guidance to students on proper patient service approaches and techniques to ensure patient needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved within state, university, and college guidelines and standards.
- Ensures compliance with state university, college policies, procedures, and regulations for assigned areas by analyzing and interpreting reports, implementing and monitoring loss prevention and safety controls, overseeing safety, operational, and quality assurance reviews, developing and implementing action plans, and providing direction and guidance on executing programs and strategic initiatives.
- Provides comprehensive patient care to patients by processing and accurately dispensing prescription orders; counseling patients regarding health care and prescription medication needs; and maintaining confidential information, controlled medications and required documentation.
- Maintains confidential information, documentation, and assigned records as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- A PharmD degree from an accredited institution.
- Licensure as a registered pharmacist in the State of Colorado.
- Experience in a pharmacy retail and/or hospital setting.
- Must be willing and able to obtain Colorado pharmacist license by date of hire.
- Must be willing and able to obtain valid NPI number by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to obtain valid Colorado Medicaid Provider number by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to complete CAQH by date of hire
- Must be willing and able to obtain current BLS/CPR certification by date of hire.
- Must be willing and able to actively participation in health plan contracts.
- Must be willing and able to remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current.
- Must be willing and able to ensure strict compliance with University and professional policies/procedures
- Must be willing and able to work in a normal patient care environment with some exposure to biological hazards and infectious diseases.
- Must be willing and able to support both adult and pediatric populations.
- Must be willing and able to maintain and renew Colorado pharmacist licenses
- Ability to develop collaboration with inter-professional colleagues
- Ability to critically think and problem-solve to achieve pharmacy and clinical objectives.
- Ability to build strong working relationships; excellent interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a diverse population of patients, their families, and other members of the health care team
- Ability to stay up to date on drug approvals, product recalls and changes to medications’ indications and warnings
- Ability to follow and ensure compliance with federal and state laws regulating pharmacy practice.
- Considerable degree of independent judgment and work priorities necessary to monitor and respond to patient, pharmacy, and clinic needs.
- Ability to use computer and clinic software, and to document in EHR in a prompt, timely manner, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Ability to effectively promote pharmacy and clinic through participation in marketing and patient recruitment
- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical materials, their use, maintenance and storage
- Unconditional ability to maintain compliance with HIPAA and OSHA
- Ability to keep up to date with the latest regulations and best practices in the pharmacy field.
- Ability to manage the pharmacy team while serving as Pharmacist on Duty including fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Exemplary organizational skills and ability to prioritize
