Nature of Work

The Instructor/Sr Instructor/Assistant Professor at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Refugee Mental Health Practice will join the CU Medicine Department of Psychiatry Faculty Practice and University of Colorado Outpatient Clinic in an expanding program working with immigrants and refugees of all ages. Our clients seek care for suffering related to past trauma resettlement and acculturation difficulties, and other mental health issues. The Instructor/Sr Instructor/Assistant Professor will work with the Refugee Mental Health Medical Director to expand the existing Immigrant and Refugee Mental Health Practice and work collaboratively with the Stress Trauma, Adversity Research and Trauma Center’s Clinic in order to provide optimal care for traumatized patients.

This clinician will:

• Work with Care Coordinators to help facilitate mental health referrals to the program through coordination with University of Colorado Hospital primary care clinics and outside agencies who work with immigrants and refugees.
• Provide individual and family psychotherapy and case management services for clients
• including coordination of care with other agencies.
• Educate primary care providers on refugee mental health.
• Educate trainees in psychiatry, psychology, and social work on refugee mental health.
• Collaborate with mental health and medical staff to ensure optimal patient care.
Work with Medical Director and Evaluation team to create and update systems to track intake calls, referrals, and touch points. Attend weekly program planning meetings.Attend weekly clinical case conference meetings.Assist with administrative aspects of patient care.Comply with all safety measures, clinic policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned by the clinic manager and program director.

Please note, this is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor/Senior Instructor/ Assistant Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below.

Salary and Benefits:

LCSW or LPC The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at

Instructor:  $58,000 to $80,000.  

Senior Instructor:  $58,000 to $80,000.  

PhD and/or PsyD The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at

Instructor: $95,000 to $105,000.

Senior Instructor:  $95,000 to $105,000.  

Assistant Professor:  $95,000 to $105,000.  

This information represents the 25-50 percentile of the salary range which is reflective of a candidate with 1-7+ years of experience. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.  The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Preferred Qualifications (applicable for all ranks)

• Fluency in Spanish, Arabic, Dari, or Farsi
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience in program development.

• Experience with EPIC system.
