Responsibilities This position reports directly to the Program Director of Digital Services & OER. This position is responsible for the oversight of Digital Services products and the OER program. This position will assist with the development and implementation of the statewide and affordable learning OER program to include, the statewide network, approval process, standards, and promotion of the program. Collaborating with the Director, state and national OER leaders, FLVC, and other stakeholders to meet program goals.

Works with commercial, open-source, and locally developed content management applications to create, manage, and promote digital information and educational resources state-wide. Develops and provides resource knowledge to FLVC and Library staff throughout the State of Florida on the processes and applications utilized in specialty areas of Digital Services and OER, as needed.

Serves as an advocate for Digital Services and OER by providing professional development resources to include trends, standards, and best practices through a variety of platforms to multiple audiences. Assists in the oversight of events and activities to include, but is not limited to member management, maintenance and development, operations management, quality control, production of data reports, and vendor requests. Provides web-based and on-site training to departmental staff, library staff, and stakeholders on support processes for Digital Services and OER.

Provides analytical data by compiling, analyzing, and reporting program impact. Recommends and/or enacts change within the program based on the data and metrics utilized to measure the department's impact. Assists in the oversight of grant identification, application, obtainment, and reporting requirements.

Maintains current knowledge of regional and national trends, and the initiatives related to technology for Digital Services and OER. To the extent possible, given limitations of time and funding, contributes to the departmental professional development by participating in regional and national initiatives through meeting attendance, committee appointments, and other means of involvement.

Contributes to the general design and operation of applications and services to enhance the digital capabilities of the libraries and/or OER.

Participates in state-wide committees, working groups, and task forces of staff concerned with the creation, description, and/or management of digital or educational resources.

Performs work in support of business processes and projects. Performs time-sensitive tasks and meets established deadlines; maintains effective communications with appropriate FLVC staff; maintains effective working relationships to ensure the success of the business processes and projects.

Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes pertaining to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management. Appropriately utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards.

Qualifications Master's degree in Library Science or related field and a minimum of two years of experience directly with an open education resources program or a bachelor's degree and four years of expereince. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

    Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment.Ability to understand and interpret educational needs and to develop effective instructional media solutions.Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures within the telecommunications, network, and data fields.Knowledge of data gathering, analysis, testing methodologies, practices, and techniques.Knowledge of the principles and practices of project planning, development, and evaluation.Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of collections management to include proper handling, installation, preservation and/or maintenance.Proficiency with OER, with at least two years of experience.Experience or working knowledge of digital services, scholarly communications, open access, and/or OER.Experience with libraries or librarians.Ability to work effectively both in the context of the team and independently under self-direction.
Preferred
    Knowledge of current and emerging trends and topics of interest in OER and affordable learning in higher education.Experience with academic libraries or librarians.Demonstrated experience in higher education, supporting research, publishing, course creation, professional development, or similar areas.Expert with project management with multiple projects and stakeholders.Working knowledge of learning management systems (preferably Canvas)Working knowledge of cataloging or metadata standards, XML, Unix/Linux, and relational database managementExperience with successful grant writing and funding.Knowledge of current and emerging library topics and trends, especially those relating to digital services and OER.Demonstrated advocacy or outreach experience.
