Responsibilities

The Department of Religion invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor in Religions of Western Antiquity position, beginning August 2022. The teaching load for this position will be two courses per semester (fall and spring).

Qualifications

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. (Specialization is open.)

• Must exhibit evidence of an independent program of scholarly research yielding significant peer-reviewed publications.
• Must exhibit promise of a strong teaching contribution in the context of a comprehensive religious studies program (B.A. through Ph.D.).

Preferred

Expertise in areas that will broaden the historical and thematic strengths of the program.
