Key Control Card Access Specialist

Job Summary

This position acts as a dedicated single point of contact for all key, lock, and card access-related functions in Facilities. This position has the overall responsibility for all administrative functions for this program area. Program functions include key and lock control, card access management, other specialist access control programs, record-keeping, and reporting.

This position administrates and monitors policy compliance for Facilities, mainly with regard to the campus Key and Lock Policy and decentralized electronic door access policies.

This is technical program support position involves work that includes the application of the basic principles and practices of the door hardware, locksmith, and electronic access control disciplines and application of technical knowledge to decision-making processes on a daily basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three years or more of advanced clerical or para-professional work which include the collection, reporting, compilation, and presentation of program data and related information.
  • Three years of customer service experience in a call center/help desk or similar environment.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with relational database driven software and electronic record-keeping or accounting operations.
  • Electronic record-keeping experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with University officials, students, faculty, staff, and contracted vendors. Requires a high degree of competency in both verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge of basic PC hardware and software. An understanding and proven capability to use a PC with demonstrated abilities to perform common application tasks and some developmental tasks (report generation, spreadsheet development, basic database modification and development).
  • Demonstrated understanding of core customer service concepts, strategies, and quality management philosophies.
  • Ability to successfully work in a stressful, high volume environment with constantly changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Business, Analytics, Public Administration, or similar relevant degree program. (May be substituted for two years of experience)
  • One or more years’ experience working with Electronic Access Controls Systems.
  • One or more years’ experience working in a Facilities environment.
  • One or more years’ experience working with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Prior work experience in the locksmith or electronic access controls industry.
  • Formal continuing education in within the last 3 years.
  • Experience working with blueprints, technical schematics, or specifications.
  • Experience developing standard operating procedures or writing policy documents.

The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $39,902, per the AFSCME CBA.

Comprising five colleges - Visual and Performing Arts, Business, Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Graduate Studies - Kutztown University offers a diverse range of excellent academic programs to prepare individuals for successful careers.
