Publicity, Recruiting, and Development Coordinator- Chemistry Exempt; Full-Time; MR 10 The Department of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville www.chem.utk.edu invites applications for a regular, full-time Publicity, Recruiting and Development Coordinator position (staff), which includes travel to professional conferences and hosting UT departmental visits. This position will develop, coordinate, and maintain departmental and faculty websites; multiple departmental databases to be used in different contexts, such as departmental profiling of faculty, staff, students, program evaluation, and recruiting, and other communication products as needed. This position will also develop a comprehensive recruiting program for graduate studies in the Chemistry Department. The recruiter reports directly to the Head of the Department of Chemistry. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data Base Development, Coordination, Maintenance
- Background on all Faculty, Staff, and students in Chemistry Department, including:
- Faculty and Student Awards, presentations, and publication lists
- Faculty Funding of Research
- Undergraduate and Graduate Student information: previous education, progress through system, awards, fellowships, papers published, positions after UTK
Qualifications
QualificationsQualifications / Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's in chemistry, or related sciences, or communications.
Required Experience: Must have experience in database programming in Microsoft Access, or FoxPro, or Paradox, Window operating systems, word processing, web page construction.
Preferred Experience: Bachelor's in chemistry, or related sciences, or communications. 2 years laboratory experience in chemistry or related science fields.
Job Skills:
• experience with word processing (MSword)• spreadsheets (Excel)• Database (Access; FoxPro, Paradox)• presentation (PowerPoint),• website (HTML, Drupal, Wordpress or other CMS) or similar programs• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work and communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including faculty, students, support staff in the department and at UT, alumni, and students and contacts at other universities as well• Must have the ability to travel and represent the department at various conferences and school career fairs
