Description:

The University of Tennessee English Department seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in 20th- and 21st-century African American literature, with a particular interest in fiction. We welcome candidates with expertise in specializations such as (but not limited to) film/media studies, transatlantic studies, and digital humanities. Excellence in research and teaching is required. PhD in hand or expected by August 1, 2022. Duties include active participation in both graduate and undergraduate programs, plus significant research and publication. Salaries and teaching loads are competitive, and our endowment provides ample support for research and travel. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.


Qualifications:

PhD in hand or expected by August 1, 2022. Excellence in research and teaching is required.
