The International Business School at Brandeis University seeks to hire an Associate Director. This role consists of a comprehensive academic advising and student engagement plan for a cohort of a largely International graduate student population in areas including course selection, registration, commencement certification, and the development of relationships and community building at the International Business School.

This role involves providing individual student advising and course planning guidance, academic administrative reviews such as reviewing degree audits and degree checkouts, and processing exemptions. The Associate Director also provides administrative support to the MSBA Program Director.

 In addition, the Associate Director manages a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plan for graduate students at the International Business School. The position integrates the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Experience (OASSE) goals with the business school’s DEI committee and University’s DEI office. Creates and/or facilitates programming geared toward the student population, which is significantly international.

Examples of Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists the MSBA Program Director with the administration of the MSBA program, including degree audits, grade/credit transfer forms, degree applications. Works with the Program Director on new Degree requirements and design of the program. Works with the Program Director advising students (course selection, program requirements, etc.), new student orientation. degree audits, etc. Monitor students’ progress through the program. Work with Student Financial Services regarding billing adjustments/extended stay paperwork. Work closely with Career Strategies Center staff to coordinate programming for students. Sits on the MSBA Admissions committee. Helps manage student issues. Serves as a student advocate on the Academic Standing Committee.   
  • Acts as Academic Advisor for incoming Exchange Students. Communicates with partners regarding student affairs, processes and deadlines. Communicates to incoming Exchange students regarding visas, course registration, housing and more. Uses Slate to for Visa processing, class registration and communications. Creates and organizes Fall and Spring Exchange student orientation. Provides academic guidance once students are on campus. Serves as the study abroad coordinator for Outgoing business school students. Uses Slate to build application processes and transfer credits. Works with students and partner schools to place business school students abroad. Responsible for confirming transfer credit and re-entry orientation.  
  • Manages and coordinates the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts of the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Experience. Leads the review and discussion of the department's DEI mission and objectives. Manages the DEIS Scholars program. Develops programming in conjunction with university partners to train and engage students in areas of identity and community, with a lens toward international populations and cross-cultural understanding. Serves as the lead contact with the International Student and Scholars Office. Assists the English Language Program in strategically engaging our students and supporting the integration of linguistic diversity into programming. Works with clubs with intercultural business focus.     

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred plus 5-8 years or related work experience

Knowledge of Excel, Word, Photoshop, Qualtrics, Video Editing Software and Social Media Platforms is preferred.  Bilingual or multilingual preferred.  Experience working with a diverse population is strongly preferred.
