Program Associate for the Georgetown Americas Institute, Office of the Provost - Georgetown University

Requirements

Program Associate for the Georgetown Americas Institute, Office of the Provost - Georgetown University

The Program Associate supports the Georgetown Americas Institute (the “Institute”), which engages faculty, students, and leaders across the academic, business, NGO and policy sectors to advance research and promote solutions to key economic, political, and social challenges facing the region and the hemisphere as a whole. They are essential to the operations and administration of the Institute, providing core administrative, program, and communications support. Reporting to the Vice President for Global Engagement/Institute Director, the Program Associate has duties that include but are not limited to:

Administrative and Executive Support
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Institute
  • Administer events and logistics management, financial administration, and financial reporting.
  • Perform administrative and general office management tasks - e.g., ordering office supplies, placing facilities service requests, arranging mailings, maintaining common area spaces, and coordinating with security vendors
  • Administer certain executive support functions - e.g., Director's calendar management, visa applications, and travel coordination
  • Provide research support
  • Support finance, travel, and events logistics, as needed


Website and Communications
  • Manage content for the Institute's website
  • Perform outreach to raise awareness of Georgetown's engagement with Latin America through email, social media, and other communications outreach


Faculty and Student Programs
  • Plan and execute faculty and student programs
  • Publicize programs
  • Solicit applications for the programs
  • Support selection committees
  • Assist with the planning of the programs
  • Oversee the execution of the programs


Human Resources
  • Supervise 1 to 2 student workers
  • Assist with time entry and the resolution of Payroll issues


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A familiarity with the Latin America region
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Proven skills in time management, organization, and communications and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a complex, multi-faceted environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Collaborative work style and ability to respond positively to constructive feedback


Preferred qualifications
  • 1 to 2 years of professional experience, preferably in an administrative/business capacity
  • Background/experience in accounting
  • Experience with WorkDay
  • Knowledge of Georgetown's mission and its activities in Latin America
