The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University seeks exceptional applicants (MD/PhD, MD, or PhD) with expertise in developmental biology, immunology, reproductive, stem cell and/or perinatal biology relevant to the discipline of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics. Applicant's primary appointment will reside within the Division of Reproductive, Stem Cell and Perinatal Biology and applicant will become an integral member of the newly established Dunlevie Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center for Discovery, Innovation and Clinical Impact. The mission of the Dunlevie Center is to empower an arc of discovery and implementation in maternal-fetal science to save lives and improve the health of expectant mothers and babies for generations to come. The Center will focus on reducing maternal mortality and morbidity, and improving fetal and neonatal outcomes, through basic science, translational and clinical investigation, and will include multidisciplinary collaborations supported by administrative and research infrastructure.

Based on the applicant's credentials, this appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in the University Medical Line (UML), University Tenure Line (UTL), or Nontenure Line (Research; NTLR). A well-established history of investigation, distinguished publication record and track-record as a collaborator or the trajectory of the above for more junior applicants is expected. Applicants will be responsible for leading a robust basic science research program as well as training graduate students, post-docs, research-oriented medical students, residents, and clinical fellows as applicable. Preference will be given to outstanding candidates who can complement and/or enhance existing strengths within the Department and the larger University community. Clinical activity would require the appropriate board certification/eligibility.

The major criteria for appointment in the University Medical Line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to scholarship and teaching. The major criterion for appointment for faculty in the Non-Tenure Line (Research) is evidence of high-level performance as a researcher for whose special knowledge fills a programmatic need. Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
