Nature of Work

The Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Head & Neck Cancer surgeon to join the full-time faculty. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    Clinical service in the field of Head & Neck Surgery, with the primary location for this position being the University of Colorado Hospital.Teaching and mentoring of residents, medical students, and other related trainees.Faculty expectation for regular academic/scholarship/research activities toward academic promotion

This faculty position reports to the Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery.

Supervision Exercised

This position exercises no formal supervision of employees.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) has been established at $275,000 - $350,000 (Assistant Professor), $300,000 - $400,000 (Associate Professor), $325,000 - $450,000 (Professor) 

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications  

Assistant Professor:

  • MD or MD/PhD degrees
  • Board Certified or Board Qualified in Otolaryngology (If Board Qualified, must receive Board Certification within 2 years of hire) 
  • Fellowship Trained in Head & Neck Surgery
  • Ability to obtain a Colorado medical license
Associate Professor:

  • MD or MD/PhD degrees
  • Board Certified in Otolaryngology
  • Fellowship Trained in Head & Neck Surgery
  • 4+ years of experience at rank or equivalent experience 
  • Ability to obtain a Colorado medical license
Professor:

  • MD or MD/PhD degrees
  • Board Certified in Otolaryngology
  • Fellowship Trained in Head & Neck Surgery
  • 7+ years of experience at rank or equivalent experience 
  • Ability to obtain a Colorado medical license
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications are the same for all ranks:

  • Ability to perform microvascular reconstruction
  • Provide track record of, or ability to obtain, extramural funding
  • Demonstrated research in the field of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery
  • Proven track record of academic excellence
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
