The CU College of Nursing is seeking an experienced educator to serve as the Faculty Development Coordinator.  The ideal candidate would be qualified to hold a faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the IRC: Clinical Teaching Track with dedicated time for the Faculty Development Coordinator administrative faculty appointment.

The University of Colorado, College of Nursing has an opening for full-time (1.00 FTE) faculty position with dedicated time for the administrative faculty role of CU Nursing Faculty Development Coordinator. The Faculty Development Coordinator should possess a strong understanding of instructional methodology and learning pedagogy, and be able to design and evaluate training and development programs to support faculty in the design of quality learning experiences in the classroom and online. This administrative faculty position requires constant awareness of trends in educational delivery methods and the ability to assist faculty with the integration of best practices in instructional technology and pedagogy. This position is responsible for the coordination, data collection, and tracking of faculty development and mentoring programs in the College.  This position is for an experienced educator and will require leadership skills, collaborative and participative team building skills, and effective interpersonal communication skills.

The Faculty Development Coordinator will consult with the College community to address faculty development and training needs. The Coordinator should possess a strong understanding of instructional methodology and learning pedagogy, and be able to design and evaluate training and development programs to support faculty in the design of quality learning experiences in the classroom and online. The Coordinator will oversee the Doctoral Teaching Fellows and teach the education certificate courses. This position requires constant awareness of trends in educational delivery methods and the ability to assist faculty with the integration of best practices in instructional technology and pedagogy. This position is responsible for the coordination, data collection, and tracking of all faculty development programs in the College.  This position will require leadership skills, collaborative and participative team building skills, and effective interpersonal communication skills.

The Faculty Development Coordinator reports directly to the Sr. Associate Dean for Faculty and Students and works collaboratively with college leadership, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities of the Position

  • Develops, delivers, and assesses training for all full and part-time faculty and contract faculty; develops assessment reports reflective of the learning outcomes and effectiveness of training. Provides leadership in faculty development by designing, implementing and assessing a comprehensive program of faculty development to assist faculty at all career stages and for both in-class and online environments.
  • Consults with academic deans, faculty and staff to identify instructional development needs; provides guidance regarding content, instructional design, and technology to support learning based on the use of scientifically based research and data.
  • Develop and deliver programs designed to train faculty specifically in the effective use and application of technology to improve instruction based on research that includes best practices.
  • Assists with marketing of professional development training opportunities.
  • Coordinates and provides mentorship for the Doctoral Teaching Fellows
  • Develops and coordinates full and part-time onboarding training for faculty, including orientations for contract faculty
  • Sponsors and supervises webinars, and live events related to improving classroom productivity and student learning.
  • Teaches courses in the educational certificate program
  • Researches and evaluates training materials, videos, print median and speakers for events and classes.
  • Coordinates implementation of a program for recognizing faculty innovation in teaching excellence.

Salary and Benefits:

    The hiring salary range for each position has been established at: $95,000 - $120,000 annually at Assistant Professor of Clinical Teaching$110,000 - $130,000 annually at Associate Professor of Clinical Teaching$130,000 - $160,000 annually at Professor of Clinical Teaching
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
