Adjunct or Full Time Temporary Faculty Positions

General Information: The Department of Social Work has graduate (MSW) and undergraduate (BSW) programs, both accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The BSW program has approximately 60 majors enrolled annually who represent diverse backgrounds, cultures, learning styles, and educational experiences. The overwhelming majority of the undergraduates are deaf or hard of hearing. Position contingent on funding.

Responsibilities: This position could be for a temporary adjunct to teach a specific course or for a temporary full-time (one semester) position responsible for teaching 4 courses.

The incumbent for either position would be responsible for teaching courses in one or more of the major curriculum areas of the BA Social Work or MSW program (social work practice, social work research, human behavior and the social environment, diversity, family studies, internship supervision, and/or social welfare policy).

Minimum Qualifications:

1. MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program.

2. A minimum of two years post-MSW social work practice experience to teach practice courses.

3. Knowledge of Deaf culture and deaf/hard of hearing communities, as well as ability to interact with a culturally diverse campus community.

Preferred Qualifications:

3. Experience as a social worker practicing on the micro, mezzo, macro, and/or policy level.
