The collection site clerk will work under the supervision of the assisant director of health services to provide registration assistance to students, faculty, and staff who come to a COVID specimen collection site. The clerk will input individual information into a designated database, print labels for specimen collection kits, properly label collection kits and conduct onsite sample processing. The clerk will be responsible for ensuring proper tester identification and observing testing individuals for proper technique and execution of tests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Register students, faculty, and staff at collection sites for COVID specimen collection into the Colby database
  • Verify identification of individuals to be tested
  • Observe individuals administering self-collection
  • Print specimen labels and properly affix labels to specimen collection container
  • Conduct onsite sample processing
  • Properly don and doff face covering and gloves according to CDC guidelines
  • Ensure safety at all times for individuals being tested and enforce social distancing guidelines
  • Maintain accurate record of all individuals who get specimens collected onsite
  • Follow proper infection prevention procedures at all times
  • Perform additional duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a high level of motivation and initiative
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are critical
  • Ability to handle confidential information tactfully
  • Ability to make an impact through work as a member of a team and diverse community
  • Valid driver’s license required and must meet the College’s Fleet Safety Policy requirements

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Duties require interactions with faculty, staff, and students.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

General open office and campus environment. Position involves sitting, although frequent movement is necessary. Occasional lifting is required. Computer usage involving repetitive hand/wrist motion is also necessary. Occasional lifting of equipment and materials of less than 30 pounds is required.
