IT Software Analyst 4

 

 

The University of Tennessee, Office of Information Technology Applications Group is seeking applicants for the position of IT Software Analyst 4. Market Range: MR14

 

The IT Software Analyst 4 will be a senior web developer in the UTK Business Information Systems group.  This position entails designing, building, and optimizing websites and databases, for many online applications. This position will report to the manager of the Business Information Systems group.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading the technical analysis, development, deployment and support for the most complex and mission critical systems
  • Implementing web based solutions by planning, programming, managing resources, communicating progress, and delivering final products
  • Identifying user and system requirements for new websites and applications
  • Writing or reviewing code for various applications
  • Running functionality tests and debugging code
  • Working with designers to decide on UI/UX elements (ie, graphics / navigation buttons)
  • Ensuring software documentation is up-to-date
  • Collaborating with mobile developers to build mobile-responsive websites
  • Other duties as required
  • Mentors other analysts


Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

NoteApplicants need to submit a cover letter, resume, and three (3) professional references.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field and seven (7) years of applicable experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five (5) years of IT experience developing and maintaining large-scale mission critical enterprise applications
  • Strong knowledge of PHP, Linux, and open-source development toolsets
  • Working knowledge of SQL (MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL)
  • Experience serving as a team/project lead and mentoring others
  • Experience in Application Development SDLC Processes
  • Experience with GitHub Source Control Management
 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in Higher Education serving in a technical role
  • Experience with WordPress development and management
  • Must be well spoken, creative, and motivated
