Vice President and General Counsel

The University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Florida invites applications, nominations and inquiries for the position of Vice President and General Counsel. This university-wide position serves as the chief legal officer for UCF and reports directly to UCF’s President, Dr. Alexander N. Cartwright, and the UCF Board of Trustees.

The Vice President and General Counsel will be an outstanding leader with absolute integrity and excellent and seasoned judgement, a forward-thinking and collaborative attorney, and a key partner and leading voice on the University’s senior leadership team to implement the strategic vision and direction of UCF.

The Office of the General Counsel is the in-house corporate legal office for UCF. The office provides and coordinates a full range of legal services to UCF in such areas as academic affairs, freedom of speech and expression, tenure, employment, labor relations, student affairs, contracts, real estate and construction, athletics, health law, business law, research and innovation, intellectual property and technology transfer, development and gift agreements, information protection, federal and state law, public law issues, public records, and others.
