This position oversees the planning, execution, and evaluation of economic education and financial literacy programs in coordination with the Director of the Center for Economic Education and Financial Literacy (CEEFL). This role will focus on the development, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing CEEFL programs that provide meaningful growth in economics education and financial wellness for PreK-12 public, private, and charter school students and teachers, UWG students and employees, the greater West Georgia Region, and our affiliated national and international network. This position will cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance the reach of financial literacy and economics education programs; broaden, develop, and maintain cooperative relationships between internal and external partners to expand the reach of financial wellness on campus and in our local, regional, and national CEEFL service area; produce, distribute, and maintain communications, including social media, website, marketing, and the production of monthly activity reporting; and supervise a team of CEEFL undergraduate and graduate student assistants.
Planning, Execution, and Evaluation of Economics Education - 35
Development, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing programs in economics education and financial literacy. This will include, but is not limited to, updating electronic and hardcopy resources used for workshops, student events, and community engagement events; creation, customization, and distribution of materials for workshops, events, and other outreach; recruitment of attendees, and maintenance of records and resources for CEEFL workshops, student events, and community involvement priorities.
Cultivating, Developing, and Maintaining Strategic Partnersh - 35
The assistant director will develop and maintain a database of records on contacts, send out periodic updates to contacts, plan and host events which includes customizing content, scheduling, promoting, and reporting for teacher workshops, student outreach, and community engagement events. They will broaden and develop cooperative relationships both internally at UWG and externally in the greater West Georgia Region.
Maintain Internal and External Communications & Presence - 20
This position will coordinate the daily activities within the CEEFL office on campus, which will include maintenance of in-person, phone, and electronic internal and external inquiries and communications; cultivating a focus on a customer service approach to CEEFL partners and student/community clients; and promotion of events and services offered. Enhancing the web and reporting presence of the CEEFL will be a priority.
CEEFL Team Supervision - 10
The supervision and training of the rotating team of CEEFL student assistants will include establishing and maintaining a work schedule based on an established departmental budget, assigning and coordinating tasks related to CEEFL programs, overseeing the execution of assignments, time approval for payroll according to the established bi-weekly submission deadlines, and maintaining consistent office procedures and adherence to university policies.

Consequences of error: This position is responsible for economics education and financial literacy efforts in the CEEFL which includes interaction and support of local, regional, national and international efforts in financial wellness and enhancing the understanding of the economic way of thinking. Building upon 49 year history in this space with deep partnerships in the RCOB, COE, Federal Reserve Bank System, the GA Council on Economic Education, and the National Council on Economic Education, this role will have a significant impact on funding opportunities and the education of our students as they face real world responsibilities upon graduation.
2+ years related experience
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree, or enrollment and progress toward a master's degree in a related field (business, economics, finance, education)
5+ years of experience in K-12 education or higher education administration, especially student services and/or academic affairs.
$40,056 (min) - $52,356 (midpoint)

Able to work independently and effectively with others, maintain confidentiality, make independent judgements.
Budget Responsibilities: Will serve as the time approver for student employees, will schedule student workers within a set annual budget, manage travel and event expenses for the CEEFL, and maintain records/reporting for gift and grant-funded program initiatives.
Exhibit excellent oral and written skills, and communicate effectively with a variety of professionals. Strong time management, project management, and technology skills.
