Office of Digital Strategies & Communications has an opening for a full time University Staff (unclassified) Digital Strategies and Communications Program Specialist position.

Jobs in this career family involve development, marketing and management of messaging to both internal and external parties. Functions include marketing; advertising; communications; publications; brand management; writing; editing; proofreading; graphic design; web information architecture, development and design; web content development; electronic communications; social media; news media/relations; public relations; photography; videography; radio/television broadcasting; FCC compliance; and communication projects management.

Professionals at the entry level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. 

At the entry level, duties are limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals and are performed in a training and development capacity.

Position Emphasis:
The Digital Strategies and Communications Program Specialist partners with Strategic Enrollment and Student Success departments and other university staff to ensure Strategic Enrollment and Student Success technology and communication initiatives are met. The position reports to the Director of Digital Strategies and directly supports the needs of that role and technology projects specific to the Strategic Enrollment and Student Success division. Examples of work performed include, but are not limited to: organization and participation in business meetings to identify needs and gather requirements; implementation and sustainability of business solutions; creation and maintenance of training materials and marketing plans; reporting on system usages; content production and editing/updating of websites, e-communications and social media platforms; stakeholder communication; representation of Strategic Enrollment and Student Success on various university committees; and other administrative duties as assigned. 

This position provides technical and marketing/communications support and direction on the design, development, and implementation of new web sites, social media channels, the student portal, e-communications, digital marketing/communications plans, Strategic Enrollment and Student Success systems and other various communication or technology initiatives that serve CU Denver | Anschutz Strategic Enrollment and Student Success. 

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:
The hiring range for this position has been established at $42,222.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:  
A bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, business administration, business, public administration, public health, or a directly related field from an accredited institution. Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience in digital marketing and communications including, but not limited to, creation and management of websites, social media, and email campaigns. 
  • Experience working with content management systems (Sitefinity a plus), e-communications platforms (Marketing Cloud a plus), Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
