Job Summary
The School of Nursing in Columbus State University's College of Education and Health Professions invites applications for the position of Director of School of Nursing. This position is a twelve-month, tenure-track administration/faculty position.

The School of Nursing at Columbus State University graduates a diverse body of nearly 150 students annually. It offers a traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing for students seeking an RN license and three online degree programs: an RN-BSN for licensed RNs with an Associate degree; a Master of Science in Nursing (education, leadership, and information tracks); and a Master of Science in Nursing in Family Nurse Practitioner. International opportunities are available with potential study abroad programs in Ireland and Ecuador.

Responsibilities
As the chief nursing administrative and academic officer, the Director's responsibilities include:
  • academic, fiscal, and human resource management within the School of Nursing
  • overall leadership and direction for curriculum, scheduling, faculty and staff hiring and evaluation
  • leading program review
  • unit strategic planning and academic outcomes
  • leading development and implementation of new programs
  • making recommendations for resource allocations
  • supporting working relationships within and external to the university as well as with alumni
  • maintaining administrative faculty responsibilities (teaching, scholarship, and service)

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate in nursing, or equivalent, from an accredited institution; be eligible for appointment at the level of associate or full professor and with tenure; a record of quality teaching, scholarship, and service with at least three years teaching and/or administrative experience in an institution of higher education; demonstrated leadership in nursing or related positions; hold a current license or be eligible for licensure as an RN in Georgia; knowledge of and experience with accreditation of nursing programs; and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include: a demonstrated ability to provide vision, leadership, and advocacy for the university, college, school, programs, faculty, and staff; clinical leadership experience; and experiences working with and recruiting diverse populations.
