The Director for Inclusive Teaching Practices reports to the Director of the Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) and provides proactive and responsive leadership, direction, and programming that advances the University of Denver's commitment to Inclusive Excellence and Inclusive Pedagogy. The Director for Inclusive Teaching Practices is charged with creating, implementing, and assessing strategic faculty development opportunities; online resources; and consultations for faculty members, academic administrators, academic departments, and allied offices.
The position will report to the Director of the Office of Teaching and Learning who reports directly to the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs. The Director of Inclusive teaching will collaborate with the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and other allied offices to lead curricular and classroom-level efforts related to our values of creating an inclusive community of care.
Proactive, Responsive and Reactive Faculty & Administration Support
Real-time, confidential teaching and learning support for faculty members; real-time consultative support to vice-provosts, deans, academic administrators and academic departments to advance DUs commitment to Inclusive Excellence and Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) efforts:
- Provides comprehensive research-based faculty consultations to assess, design, and implement inclusive pedagogical practices across all disciplines of study and learning environments.
- Creates and provides formative resources aligned with best practices in inclusive pedagogy to faculty and academic administrators following critical incidents in learning environments.
- Supports faculty members in addressing critical aspects of course design, classroom management, and assessment of teaching and learning to best align with best practices in inclusive pedagogy.
Inclusive Teaching Faculty Development Programming
Collaborates with OTL colleagues and allied offices to develop, lead, facilitate and assess strategic Inclusive Teaching Practices programming to support the University of Denvers strategic commitment to Inclusive Excellence. Including but not limited to:
- Faculty Learning Communities.
- Teaching and Learning Series.
- Workshop Series and Short-Courses.
- Inclusive Teaching Practices sessions in broader OTL programming.
- Identify and invite special speakers to lead master-classes on special topics.
- PhD or equivalent terminal degree.
- At least 3 years of experience in higher education.
- Experience as a member of a leadership team.
- Experience supporting underrepresented populations in higher education.
- Supervision experience.
- Record of scholarly presentations and publications related to faculty development or inclusive teaching.
Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours a week. Evenings and weekends as required to the nature of faculty development work.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 13.
The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $97,000.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
