School of Psychology

Marriage and Family Therapy (Clinical Assistant Professor) - to teach courses in support of undergraduate and graduate programs in psychology. The ability to teach courses in Marriage and Family Therapy is required. Non-teaching hours will be devoted to advising and providing other support services to students.

Qualifications: Earned Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field and previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Must have or be eligible for licensure as an MFT in New Jersey, an American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Clinical Member, and Approved Supervisor (or in progress).

Positions are ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignments at the rank of Assistant Professor effective for the Fall 2022 semester, unless otherwise indicated. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations. Faculty positions located in the Nathan Weiss Graduate College may require evening hours for graduate course assignments.

All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Proficiency in the Learning Management System, Blackboard and Online Learning Pedagogy is required, consistent with University guidelines. Kean may offer free voluntary Blackboard workshops to otherwise qualified applicants.
