Nature of Work, Research Project

Our laboratory works on molecular mechanisms of membrane proteins and membrane protein complexes. To do that, we use a multidisciplinary approach, including state-of-art cryo electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography and other biophysical and biochemical methods.

Job Description

We are recruiting a post-doctoral fellow. The successful candidate will join a band-new energetic group investigating the structural and functional mechanism of various disease­ related membrane proteins and protein complexes. The candidate will work on an exciting project about a new type of siderophore ABC importer from uropathogenic E. coli (https://advances.sciencemag.org/content/6/6/eaay7997) and its close homologs. The candidate is expected to be able to perform structural biology related experiments, as well as good at both oral and written communications.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range is  $53,760-$65,292. Salary is commensurate with skills and experience, as well as NIH Guidelines.  

 

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree in Chemistry or related Biological Sciences

Desired Qualifications

    Any experience with cryo electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography, as well as recombinant protein expression and purification would be beneficial.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    Strong aptitude for independent problem-solving, and experience with protein expression and purification.

    Excellent communication, oral, and written skills are necessary.

    The candidate should be eager to learn new skills that comprise our integrative approach.
