Job Summary
Columbus State University has an opening for an Accounting Assistant / Cashier position in the Bursar's Office. This is a customer-focused position that involves cashiering and accounting duties. The Bursar's Office is the University's Accounts Receivable office and our customers include Faculty, Staff, Students, and other members of the community.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing customer service in person, via email, and via phone; receipting tuition and fee payments; processing departmental deposits; preparing bank deposits; issuing petty cash; and helping perform due-diligence collection efforts. Other duties include data entry for approved Nelnet payment plans, communication with the Financial Aid office regarding scholarship checks received, and providing back up to others in the Bursar's Office when co-workers are absent.

Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include an Associate's degree in an accounting related field or four years of related experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (banking, cashiering, bookkeeping); and the ability to use standard office equipment, such as fax, copier, calculator and desk-top computer.

Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Ellucian Banner and PeopleSoft is a plus.

Proposed Salary
The annualized salary range for this position is $24,882 - $25,000 and includes full benefits.
