The ability to teach political philosophy in a newly launching Philosophy, Politics, and Law major is desired, as is the ability to teach logic. Trinity seeks faculty candidates who are professing Christians and are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Successful candidates will possess the ability to articulate the relationship between their academic discipline, the vocational preparation of their students, and a vision for human flourishing that emerges from the Christian faith. Successful candidates are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside of the classroom through advising and other informal academic and cultural settings.
This is a tenure-track faculty role. Specific teaching assignments will depend on the candidate's area of expertise but can be expected to include both courses central to Trinity’s general education curriculum and upper-level Philosophy courses. The Philosophy Department has a significant role in the General Education curriculum of the institution and hosts two majors: a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a newly launching Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Law. Successful candidates will have the ability to teach across these programs. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, meeting with prospective students, participation in the life of the department and the wider faculty, scholarly and professional achievement, and college service.
