General Summary

The Department of Management and Quantitative Methods (MQM) at Illinois State University is seeking applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position in Organizational Behavior to begin August 16, 2022. Organizational Behavior scholars whose research and/or teaching interests include diversity, equity, inclusion, and other social issues in management are strongly encouraged to apply. Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in Organizational Behavior, or a related field, from an accredited university. Senior ABDs may be considered if they are in the late stages of their program. (Note that candidates must have successfully defended their dissertation proposal prior to the campus visit.)

The new hire’s primary teaching responsibilities will be courses in Organizational Behavior, at the undergraduate and graduate levels, along with other Management courses as needs dictate. Faculty in MQM typically teach either a 3-3 load (with sections capped at 35) or a 2-2 load (with one section capped at 35 and the other capped at 95). Classes during the academic year are delivered face-to-face. Prior to tenure, the annually renewable contract is from August 16 to May 15; the same dates apply for post-tenure appointments.

Required Qualifications

1. Earned doctorate in Organizational Behavior, or a related field, from an accredited university. Senior ABDs may be considered if they are in the late stages of their program. (Note that candidates must have successfully defended their dissertation proposal prior to the campus visit.)
2. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
