The Department of Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenured professor position in the area of social demography. We encourage applications from advanced associate or full professor candidates with expertise in population studies (e.g., fertility, family and household formation, gender and sexual orientation; population heterogeneity with respect to race, ethnicity, and other forms of diversity; migration and immigration; and aging, older populations and mortality) and demographic methods. The candidate is expected to play a strategic and leadership role in the Population Studies Center (PSC) at the University of Pennsylvania (http://www.pop.upenn.edu/). In addition to an outstanding publication record, candidates must have a successful external funding record in population science, including funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Candidates must also have a strong interest in building the PSC’s capacity for grant development and research support services.
