Description:

The Department of Mathematics and Physics invites applications for a full-time faculty position in statistics. The position involves teaching primarily at the graduate level with some undergraduate courses; preference will be given to those with ability to teach business analytics courses. Currently, the department has 12 full-time faculty members serving more than 60 mathematics and physics majors and 30 minors. In addition to the master’s program, the department also has an undergraduate minor in applied statistics and offers several general education courses including Introduction to Statistics.

    Teach coursesDevelop new coursesMaintain an active research program involving students, Mentor and advise students, Participate in department and university affairs Engage in ongoing professional development (e.g., seminars and conferences) to stay current with cutting-edge methodologies. May be needed to work at alternative Regional Campuses or Sites.

Level: Open rank (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor)



Qualifications:

    A Ph.D. in statistics or a related discipline.Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence.Demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University. (Faculty members are required to sign a “Statement of Faith,” available at http://www.apu.edu/about/believe, and to adhere to the policies outlined in the Faculty Handbook.)An interest in helping students to integrate their faith and their studies.

Experience:

All candidates should have experience teaching statistics at the university level. The ideal candidate will have an active research program, relevant experience which could lead to establishing industry, government or health care organization partners, and/or experience in successful academic program development.

Workload: Full-time faculty position.
