The Performing Arts Series has positions open for students who are ready to have an active role in Event Planning, Marketing and Communication, Entertainment Programming and Non-profit Management and Administration.
The Performing Arts Series at Miami provides a season of events and educational outreach opportunities. We know the arts are vital to a thriving community and we are dedicated to delivering them to Miami University, Oxford and the surrounding areas.
Candidates must have consistent availability in 2+ hour blocks, 2 to 3 days a week within 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday workweek. Also includes potential weekend or evening work during performances and full days on the Friday and Saturday of our annual fundraiser (Exact dates TBD). Possibility to earn extra hours during J-term in event design and production putting the fundraiser together.
Essential Duties:Student Aides are an integral part of the programming, promotion and production of Performing Arts Series events. Job responsibilities vary but often include:
-Social media and marketing content creation
-Show promotions including distributing promotional materials as part of our Street Team
-Artist and donor hospitality
-Researching and compiling reports for potential artists/future programming
-Merchandise sales at concerts
-General office work, including database entry/management, filing, assisting with mailings.
-Opportunity for tasks to shift based on a student's specific career interestsMinimum Qualifications:
-Reliable and organized
-Understands and is committed to the mission of the Performing Arts Series
-Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Spreadsheets,)
-Excellent writer with ability to develop creative ways to promote the Performing Arts Series events and accomplishments
-Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
-Experience in using social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Hootsuite) for promotional purposes
